...Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2
Corinthians 6:2)
We have no guarantee of tomorrow. The bible says:
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city,
spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know
what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that
appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If
the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your
arrogance. All such boasting is evil. (James 4:13-16)
Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a
certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying,
‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will
do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all
my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods
laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’ But God
said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose
will those things be which you have provided?’ (Luke 12:16-20)
Today we have to get right with God. There is no guarantee that we have
tomorrow. There is no guarantee that we will live to be seventy or eighty years
old. Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time.
...“Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the
rebellion.” (Hebrews 3:15)
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the
wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to
the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly
pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7)
Today is the day to trust in Christ as our Savior; to trust in Him alone and not
in our works. Our works does not save us. If our works saves us, then Christ
died in vain. Our works are as filthy rags before God.
But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like
filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have
taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6)
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not
of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by
works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved
us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He
poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been
justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal
life. (Titus 3:4-7)
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for
by the law is the knowledge of sin. (Romans 3:20)
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of
the law. (Romans 3:28)
Jesus is the only way to Heaven. It is not through Mohammed, Buddha, etc.
Mohammed, Buddha are all dead. Jesus is the only one who was raised from the
dead. Only Christ is the way to Heaven. It is not through our works, church
attendance, baptism, etc. It is only through the righteousness of God. And we do
not need to go through a man or a woman or a church to get to God. We can go
directly to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus is our High Priest. The bible says
“He ever lives to make intercession for us.”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the
Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have
life. (1 John 5:12)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by
Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected
by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation
in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which
we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10-12)
Now is the Time!
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?
Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.
O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
