Proverbs 6:6-11
The Folly of Indolence
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard!
Consider her ways and be wise,
7Which, having no captain,
Overseer or ruler,
8Provides her supplies in the summer,
And gathers her food in the harvest.
9How long will you slumber, O sluggard?
When will you rise from your sleep?
10A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to sleep--
11So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,
And your need like an armed man.
Proverbs 10:4
4He who has a slack hand becomes poor,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Proverbs 12:24
24The hand of the diligent will rule,
But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.
Proverbs 12:27
27...But
diligence is man's precious possession.
Ephesians 6:5-8
5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your
masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of
heart, as to Christ; 6not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but
as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7with
goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing
that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord,
whether he is a slave or free.
Colossians 3:22-25
22Bondservants, obey in all things your masters
according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in
sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23And
whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord
and not to men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will
receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
25But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there
is no partiality.

Timothy 6:1-2
Honor Masters
Christian Conduct in the World
1 Let as many bondservants as are under the yoke count their own
masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and His doctrine may
not be blasphemed. 2And those who have believing masters, let
them not despise them because they are brethren, but rather serve them
because those who are benefited are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort
these things.
Titus
2:9-10
9Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own
masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, 10not
pilfering [thieving], but showing all good fidelity [honesty], that they may
adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
Ephesians 4:28
28Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him
labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to
give him who has need.

Thessalonians 4:11-12
11that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind
your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,
12that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that
you may lack nothing.

Thessalonians 3:7-12
7For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for
we were not disorderly among you; 8nor did we eat anyone's bread
free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might
not be a burden to any of you, 9not because we do not have
authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.
10For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If
anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 11For we hear that
there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at
all, but are busybodies. 12Now those who are such we command and
exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat
their own bread.
Ecclesiastes 9:10
10Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might;
for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you
are going.
