Faith is Not Seeing, Yet Believing

Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29)

Faith is NOT seeing, YET believing. Faith "is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Heb. 11:1). Faith believes in the unseen. Faith believes in the unseen God. Faith believes God can do the impossible. Faith lays hold of God's promises. Jesus told the two blind men, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" (Matt. 9:28). We need to have faith when we pray. Jesus said "whatever things you ask in prayer, believing you shall receive" (Matt. 21:22). When we pray we are exercising faith in the unseen God and faith that God will answer our prayers though we may not see it before our eyes. Prayer is faith that God will give us what we ask for, though we may not see it before our eyes.

Father, help us to have more faith in You. Increase our faith to lay hold of Your promises. In Jesus name.  Amen.
