The Blessings of Obedience

"Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!" (Deuteronomy 5:29)

"You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess." (Deuteronomy 5:33)

"And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, FOR OUR GOOD always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day." (Deuteronomy 6:24)

"“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today FOR YOUR GOOD?" (Deuteronomy 10:12-13)

"For whoever finds me [JESUS] finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me [JESUS] WRONGS his own soul; All those who hate me [JESUS] love death.”" (Proverbs 8:35-36)

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will
trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we
trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we
trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will
trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only
trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
