You can do
it through Christ,
7 I
have fought the good fight, I have finished the
race, I have kept the faith.
8
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to
me only but also to all who have loved His
appearing. (2 Tim. 4:7-8)
10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and
in the power of His might.
11
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be
able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual hosts of wickedness in
the heavenly places.
13
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that
you may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
14
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with
truth, having put on the breastplate of
righteousness,
15
and having shod your feet with the preparation
of the gospel of peace;
16
above all, taking the shield of faith with which
you will be able to quench all the fiery darts
of the wicked one.
17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
18
praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with
all perseverance and supplication for all the
saints— 19
and for me, that utterance may be given to me,
that I may open my mouth boldly to make known
the mystery of the gospel,
20
for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in
it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
(Eph. 6:10-20)
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as
to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against
the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!
At
the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth
flee;
On then, Christian soldiers, on to
victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout
of praise;
Brothers lift your voices, loud your
anthems raise.
Like
a mighty army moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading where the
saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in
charity.
What
the saints established that I hold for
true.
What the saints believèd, that I believe
too.
Long as earth endureth, men the faith
will hold,
Kingdoms, nations, empires, in
destruction rolled.
Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms
rise and wane,
But the church of Jesus constant will
remain.
Gates of hell can never gainst that
church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise, and that
cannot fail.
Onward then, ye people, join our happy
throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the
triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the
King,
This through countless ages men and
angels sing.
Onward,
Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
