Proverbs 17:17
17A friend loves at all times,
And a brother is born for adversity.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
The Value of a Friend
9 Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
11Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm alone?
12Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand
him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Proverbs 27:17
17As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Psalm 119:63
63I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep
thy precepts.
Proverbs 12:26
26The righteous should choose his friends carefully,
For the way of the wicked leads them astray.
1 Corinthians 15:33
33Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."
JESUS OUR TRUE FRIEND:
Proverbs 18:24
24...But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
John 15:13-15
13Greater
love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
14You are My friends if you do whatever I command
you. 15No longer do I call you servants, for a
servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends,
for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
What a Friend we have in
Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and
temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy
laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
